Marvin Lyndon Carmelo, also known as Marv, is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Digital Filmmaking. In September 2017, he was selected to participate in Power Mac Center’s Pixelworx: Cinemansanas Masterclass with Brilliante Mendoza and Digital Short Film Competition. It concluded with the premiere and awards night, which includes his short film Ulutan sa Ayala Highway.
He had worked on a number of production companies and projects ranging from short films, digital ads, feature films, TVCs and documentary films. Aside from the filmmaking industry, he also worked for the MCAD Manila that is run by the internationally acclaimed curator Joselina Cruz.
In April 2019, Marv established his production company Chimera Visions, which had worked with local brands, government agencies, NGOs, mainstream media outfits, and international organizations.
In 2021, Marv was selected by the Film Development Council of the Philippines to participate in the Philippines’ first delegation to the 28th Sheffield Doc|Fest in the UK. In July 2021, concurrently, he was attending Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival’s Fantastic Film School and the Philippine Delegation to the Marché Du Film Cannes Producers Network 2021.
In 2022, he is selected as one of the 31 fellows in the Busan Asian Film School for the International Film Business Academy Online Programme 2022.
In 2023, he secured a grant from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts for his creative documentary film project Lasang Ug Matigsalug. Prior to this milestone, the project was shortlisted for Cinemalaya 2024 pitch but it didn’t make the cut. This 2024, the project was among the top 20 semi-finalists of the Cinemalaya 2025 Feature Length Film Category. He is joining the Cinemalaya Film Lab to further develop the project.
